More Folders v1.1____________________________________________________copyright 1995 Ben Gottlieb and Stand Alone SoftwareMore Folders is a utility to improve the accessibilty of the filing on theNewton, as well as to allow for more filing categories. Normally, when youfile an item, you tap on the the folder icon, and a window pops up. You selectthe folder you want to file the item in, and tap the "File" button. Thisseemed like a lot of work to me (I'm pretty lazy ;-) So now, when you want tofile an item, you tap on the folder icon, and a pop up list pops up. Thecurrent folder has a check mark next to it, and you can file an item simply bytapping on the new folder. After you select a folder, a little window willopen asking you to wait for a second while it files the item. This operationtakes no longer than the default method, but there is no window that staysopen to let you know it's working, hence the dialog. To edit your folders, youtap on the "Edit Folders" item (the last one on the list.) Included in thepackage is Scroll Menus, so that if you want more than 19 folders you can viewthem all on screen. When editing the folders, simply tap picker diamond next to the folder nameto bring up a list of all current folders. Selecting one puts it in the editline. You can make changes to it, but they won't take effect until you tap the"Change" button. At that point, a dialog will open asking if you really wantto change the name of the folder. Tapping "Cancel" will leave the folder nameunchanged, and tapping "OK" will go through each application and re-file allof it's data. To delete a folder, scrub it out in the edit line. A deletebutton will appear. Again, a confirmation box will appear, and tapping"Cancel" will leave the folder intact. To create a new folder, tap on the"New" button. Due to a bug in the Newton OS, if you create more than 22 folders, they willnot sort properly when you tap on the folder bar (at the top of the screen inthe note pad and names file.) You will still be able to change to them all,but they will not be listed in alphabetical order. More Folders will stop working after 30 days...it will begin to warn you 4days before this deadline to either register or remove all but 12 folders, sothat you can view them all in the folder edit dialog. Also included in this archive is a copy of Ben's Register, a program that willlet you register my software with just a password. When you register, I willsend you a password. Enter that into the Ben's Register screen, select the appyou registered from the picker at the top of the screen, and tap "Register".The app will no longer put up those pesky "Please Register" notices, and willstart working again! :-) ___________Legal Stuff:I am in no way responsible for any loss of data that may occur as a direct orindirect result of using this software package, so you can't sue me! _______________________________________________________________If you have any comments, suggestions, bug reports, or requests, I can be reached at the following addresses:Internet: StandAlone@kagi.comeWorld: gottlbAOL: PDC BenCompuServe: 76342,3057Snail Mail: Stand Alone Software 708 Forest Ave. Evanston, IL 60202_______________________________________________________________________________This application is shareware.
