Auto RotateThanks for trying this utility.Auto Rotate is a small freeware utility that will detect (at power-on) if a keyboard is connected and will rotate your screen to a preset orientation based on it. A new entry 'Auto Rotate' is added to the system preference and here you can set the desired screen orientation for with and for without keyboard. If you want you can also automatically turn on the backlight at power on. (not on a MP120)It seems to take a while after power-on before the Newton 'knows' a keyboard is connected, and the time it takes depends on other programs that are activated at power-on. (Like start-up sounds). Because of all the different configurations I added an adjustable delay. You can set the delay from 0.5 to 5 seconds. The default seems to work for most systems but if the keyboard doesn't get detected (you will know because the screen rotates to the 'No keyboard' orientation while a keyboard is connected) you can select a longer delay. The system isn't just waiting during this delay so other programs can run their startup code. Note that there is a different version of this program for the MP120, the MP130 and the MP2K. I choose to make three different programs because the code it takes to detect the Newton type is probably longer than the rest of the code.Version history:MP120/Version 1.1: First release.MP130/Version 1.1: First release.MP2K/Version 1.1: Changed the preference panel so that the activation delay can be changed. Also changed the about screen.
