Letters can now be written in the same place, one upon theother, without hand movement. No concern about relative location isnecessary.  It is a location independent recognizer if it converts suchwriting into normal printed text.FreeStyle is first to do location-independent recognition withoutcompromise.No time-out restrictions.  Time out before each character was avery annoying limitation since it could drastically reduce textentry and forced a break in your natural writing rhythm.With FreeStyle there is no need to pause between characters.No pre-defined shapes.  A set of prescribed single-stroke shapesinstead of usual handwriting characters was a step thatpopularized a new way of writing.
