Installation
============

PointPro includes a limited version of X-Port, from LandWare, for downloading color images. If you already have a copy of X-Port 2.0, you must still use the X-Port Lite Newton package which is provided (future full versions of X-Port will include the color bitmap import capability).

Windows 3.0/3.1 Users: The version of X-Port included with PointPro is for Windows 95/NT only. Please contact PelicanWare for a Windows 3.0/3.1 version of X-Port.

PointPro Viewer: The PointPro Viewer is available for download from our web page, at http://www.pelicanware.com.


Compatibility
=============

PointPro is only compatible with Newton devices using Newton Operating System 2.1 or subsequent. It has been tested on Apple MessagePad 2000, 2100, and eMate 300 devices. It is *not* compatible with MessagePad 120 or 130 devices.

PointPro has only been tested with EZShow EZ2VGA and EZ2TV PCMCIA video adaptors. We believe it will probably work with other video adapters, provided that you have the correct driver, but we can't make any guarantees.

Note: The EZShow video cards are very sensitive to static electricity. Touching the extended portion of the card while it is in operation can cause the Newton device to reset.


Known Bugs and Discrepancies
============================

1. In some cases, closing and re-opening PointPro may cause objects to revert to their previous positions.

2. When PointPro is in overview and the last document viewed was stored in internal memory, the overview may not update properly if a memory card is ejected.

3. If PointPro has never been opened, the first image downloaded through X-Port may be lost. Subsequent downloads will work properly, and if PointPro has been opened prior to downloading images, all images will be downloaded properly.
